Protection and managing the Turneffe Atoll Marine Reserve through tourism is a team effort, a collaboration between the Turneffe Atoll Sustainability Association, our partners and our visitors.

We invite you to gather with us in this pursuit; as a day-visitor with one of our recommended dive operators or for or a longer stint at one of the Turneffe Atoll resorts, or even a liveaboard; as a once-off or regular donor towards our conservation efforts; as a citizen scientist; by joining our online community; and by subscribing to our occasional newsletter to help spread the word and keep you informed and inspired – Every little bit counts!

EMBRACE

Our conservation contributors

Our Conservation Contributors are partner resorts and dive operators with a special appreciation for the value of the Turneffe Atoll Marine Reserve, for conservation and biodiversity, and as a unique and irreplaceable ecotourism destination.

Our Conservation Contribution Initiative enables an additional contribution to the protection and management of the reserve.

EMBRACE

Our partner resorts and liveaboards

Choosing to stay at one of the Turneffe resorts, or visiting Turneffe for a few days on a liveaboard gives you the opportunity to explore the Atoll in depth. On land, following a nature trail, or underwater (scuba diving or snorkeling), there is always something new to discover (including traces of Mayan history) or a new species to encounter. You can even pit your wits against wily permit and tarpon when you go catch and release flyfishing.

EMBRACE

Our dive operator partners

From Ambergris Caye, San Pedro and Caye Caulker, several excellent dive charter companies operate excellent day trips to Turneffe Atoll for diving and snorkelling.

Turneffe Atoll offers an incredible diversity of dive sites, from coral reefs to drop offs, seagrass beds and even the incredible wreck of The Wit. We’ve compiled a list of the operators we recommend – they all have modern diving gear, fully equipped boats and experienced captains and dive masters.

Citizen Science

To manage and conserve our marine parks for future generations, we need high-quality data. With your help, we can collect more data more often. Your contribution to marine conservation will help us learn more about the ecosystems we need to protect.

Sea the world. Differently.
