Turneffe Atoll is approximately 50km long and 20km wide, surrounded by a shallow fringing reef and filled with a labyrinth of channels and mangrove-covered Cayes. To help navigate this remote marine wilderness, we’ve created a collection of maps.

Belize’s Great Blue Hole, a giant sinkhole, scores high on many divers’ bucket lists. But it’s an expensive, long day trip, with just a small amount of time spent under the water exploring due to its depth. As an alternative or an addition to the Blue Hole, consider Turneffe Atoll.

Belize’s newest and premier wreck dive site is The Wit, Turneffe — a 375-foot concrete tanker ship that was laid to rest at the bottom of the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Turneffe Atoll. She is located at the Oasis dive site 0.75 miles Northeast of BlackBird Caye in Soldier Caye Reserve.
